Every day is different!

My name is Fatma. I have been working at this surgery since March 2026, as part of two-year lateral entrance course to become a doctor’s assistant. During this course I combine going to school and working in practice. Before I decided to go back to school, I used to work (among others) as a lunchtime supervisor at a primary school here in Delft, and as activities counsellor at a women’s shelter.
What I like most about my work as a doctor’s assistant is the fact that it is so diverse – every day is different! On the same day, I can perform small medical procedures as well as various administrative tasks. This combination of activities suits me well, because I enjoy helping people and love to work in an organised way. It gives me satisfaction to make a contribution to our care system and to be able to do something for another person.
